I recently learned that CNG is generally a type of GNG gas with a pressure range of 12 Mpa to 25 Mpa. At such pressures, natural gas is compressed by a factor of 120–250 compared to standard conditions, which results in high transmission efficiency; moreover, it does not require additional insulation measures like LNG does. So I came here specifically to ask if there are anyone who understands the West-East Gas Pipeline project – what is the pressure in the pipeline network?
West-to-East Gas Pipeline is 9.0 MPa
For large-diameter pipes over long distances, the system is likely to be at atmospheric pressure; booster pump stations and other such pressure-boosting facilities will be available at various junction points.

I’m not sure about the West-to-East Gas Pipeline; the design pressure of the Lancheng crude oil pipeline is said to be 8–13.4 MPa.
West Line 2: The project consists of 1 main line and 1 branch line, with a total length of 4,661 kilometers. The main line is 4,595 kilometers long and runs parallel to West Line 2 for about 3,000 kilometers; the branch line stretches from Jingmen to Duan Yunying and is 66 kilometers long. The main line is designed to transport 30 billion cubic meters of gas per year, at a pressure of 10–12 megapascals, with a pipe diameter of 1,219 millimeters – identical to the comprehensive parameters of West-East Gas Pipeline Line 1.
