Do accidents occur frequently in liquid ammonia cryogenic tanks? I’ve never done it before, and there isn’t much reference material either; I always feel like something might go wrong.
It’s not as easy to run into problems as you might think; just go ahead and do it with confidence. As long as you follow the rules during the operation, there’s basically no problem
It is corrosive and volatile, and is roughly the gas among chemical products that causes the most casualties
Basically, there’s no problem; the stress level is not high, and the corrosion allowance is low – it can be as low as 0.6. You can refer to the refrigeration standards for more details.
