What is the purpose of this BOG tank at the gasification station?

It needs to be compressed by a compressor in order to enter, right?
Generally speaking, BOG storage tanks are installed in the gasification unit area or the loading/unloading area primarily to collect the LNG flash vapor generated during normal production processes, as well as the BOG and LNG residues produced during pre-cooling and evacuation processes during startup and shutdown operations. They serve a buffering and recovery function to prevent energy waste
It is either the evaporation from collection tanks, or it serves as a buffer tank after vaporization.
Generally, there is no compressor in front of such BOG storage tanks; these vertical tanks are used for storage under pressure (typically at 0.6–0.8 MPa) to collect BOG gas that is at excessive pressure. I’m not sure if there are any users on site who have gas boilers or similar equipment. The gasification volume of 10 vertical tanks per day is also quite significant
Store the gasified LNG in vapor form; use methods such as pressure relief or pre-cooling to reduce losses. It is only installed when necessary after calculations have been done
On LNG carriers, these tanks are not that large; they are used to capture flash vapor, which is then sent to the main engine for combustion, or it is directly fed to the compressor to be cooled and liquefied before being returned to the storage tank.
The buffer tank directly channels the BOG into the NG pipeline, where subsequent operations such as pressure regulation, metering, and odorization are carried out.
