Recently in 2024, Henan Pingmei Shenma Rufeng Carbon Materials Technology Co., Ltd. held a meeting to discuss the feasibility study report for the project aimed at the high-value comprehensive utilization of coke oven gas. Zhang Hongen, deputy director of the Coking Management Department of Pingmei Co., Ltd., Yu Yuanhang, deputy director of the Planning and Development Department, as well as other members of the expert group, Wang Peng, secretary of the company’s Party general branch and vice chairman, Wang Erping, vice general manager, project staff from the Southwest Chemical Engineering Research and Design Institute, and other relevant company personnel attended the meeting. The experts present listened to the company’s presentation on the project, while the Southwest Chemical Engineering Research and Design Institute delivered a report on the project’s feasibility study. This project uses excess coke oven gas as raw material, and through compression and purification, methanation, and cryogenic separation, SNG is produced. The off-gases from the cryogenic separation process mainly consist of hydrogen, which is combined with nitrogen produced by air separation to synthesize ammonia, thereby yielding liquid ammonia. Rufeng Carbon Materials Technology Co., Ltd. in Henan Province is building a 1.2-million-ton coking project by replacing the existing production capacity of Chaochuan Chemical and Rufeng Coking with reduced capacity. Commissioned in 2023. The project utilizes the 2×55-hole JNX3-70-1 type coke ovens with a 7-meter-high top-mounted design, which are the only ones in China’s coking industry to have won the \"First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress.\" In terms of oven design, process selection, environmental protection measures, intelligent equipment, and overall operational efficiency, this system is at the leading level in China.
