On April 15, 2019, at a liquefied natural gas (LNG) vaporization and supply station in Hebei, a flash fire occurred due to a leak of liquefied natural gas while filling the storage tanks. The incident did not result in any casualties, but it caused direct economic losses of over 300,000 yuan.
Upon investigation, it was determined that this accident was a work safety liability incident caused by the failure of the production and operation entity to fulfill its responsibilities properly, improper handling by the workers on site, and inadequate efforts by the regulatory authorities to identify and address potential hazards.
