Reporters learned on May 26 that the Donggang undersea tunnel, part of the external pipeline project connected to the Fujian LNG receiving station and representing China National Petroleum Corporation’s first undersea gas pipeline tunnel, has now been successfully completed. 　　The tunnel was surveyed and designed by the Southwest Branch of China Railway Engineering Group Corporation (CPECC), laying the foundation for the smooth progress of the Fujian LNG receiving station. As the \"throat\" and key project of the external pipeline system supporting the Fujian LNG receiving station, the Donggang undersea tunnel is 1,744 meters long and constitutes a vital part of the construction of the Fujian Strait Zero-Carbon Energy Port. Its completion is of great significance for ensuring the timely commissioning of the Fujian LNG receiving station, enhancing the safety and reliability of natural gas supply in Fujian and surrounding areas, and promoting the adjustment of the energy structure in coastal regions. Leveraging its design expertise and core technologies, the Southwest Branch of CPECC innovatively proposed a design scheme consisting of \"vertical shafts + horizontal adits at the ends of the vertical shafts + horizontal adits at the ends of the inclined shafts\", and formulated 7 specific measures as well as relevant emergency plans, including those for dealing with fractured zones, water and mud inrush, and grouting for water control. This measure effectively reduced the risks associated with tunnel construction, successfully overcoming a series of complex challenges such as tunneling through docks, residential buildings, and fish farming areas.
