On December 1, the main section of Bid 2 for the Min-Guang branch line of the West-East Gas Pipeline Project III (from Chaozhou to Valve Room No. 27), which is being constructed by Zhongyuan Construction Company under PetroChina Engineering Construction Corporation, was completed. Located in Raoping County of Chaozhou City and Dapu County of Meizhou City in Guangdong Province, this project is a **key initiative for the interconnection of natural gas infrastructure. The section constructed by Zhongyuan Construction Engineering is 64.32 kilometers long, including 2 station valve rooms. During construction, the project team overcame various challenges such as the complex terrain in mountainous areas, heavy rainfall, and a complicated environment in the surrounding villages. They optimized the fully automatic welding equipment used inside the tunnel, and conducted trial welds outside the tunnel using steel pipes to create arch frames that mimicked the tunnel’s shape. By adjusting the welding parameters, they managed to maintain a first-pass welding success rate of over 98%, which laid a solid foundation for the successful completion of the project.
