This development contributes to energy security and the high-quality economic and social development of the Yangtze River Delta region. The facility is under the jurisdiction of CNPC Jiangsu LNG Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Jiangsu Company”), and is located on Sunshine Island in Yangkou Port, Rudong. It has 6 liquefied natural gas storage tanks with a total capacity of 1.08 million cubic meters, which is equivalent to 432 standard swimming pools. After being vaporized, this liquefied gas is gathered through the Rudong branch line and fed into the **national natural gas network. It then flows northward to the Shaanxi-Beijing pipeline and southward to the West-East Gas Transmission Line, serving five provinces and one municipality including Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang, Henan, Shandong, and Shanghai. At full capacity, it can meet the gas needs of 23 million households for one month straight; it is thus the natural gas supply base with the largest volume of gas handled and the strongest peak-shaving capacity in the Yangtze River Delta region at present. “The gas export volume from this station in Jiangsu accounts for 30% of the province’s total consumption. During the most recent winter supply period, 35 ships visited this station in total, and the volume of gas exported increased by 9% on a year-on-year basis. ”Zhu Binbin, manager of the production and operation center at the Jiangsu company, said that the supply guarantee capacity of the receiving station has increased by more than 5 times over the past 15 years. The enhancement of energy security resilience in Jiangsu is mainly attributed to the **energy security strategy and the establishment of CNPC’s diversified supply system. “CNPC has expanded from initially having less than 10 gas sources to now covering 28 countries and regions including Russia, Qatar, and Australia. ”Miao Xiaochen, general manager of the Jiangsu company, said that on April 1, the Liberian-flagged vessel \"Cosmo Elegance\", which set sail from the port of Prikolodnoye in Russia, arrived at the dock. This was the fifth time that vessel has called at the Sunshine Island dock, bringing a total of 66,000 tons of liquefied natural gas this time. With this batch of gas supplied to the island’s storage tanks, the total volume of gas received at this station has exceeded 100 billion cubic meters.
