It is mainly a process of evaporation and crystallization of NaCl and Na2SO4, and online monitoring of chloride ion concentration is required to control the parameters. However, the meters available on the market are all designed for measuring residual chlorine, and their measurement range is too narrow. So, what methods exist for online monitoring of high concentrations of chloride ions?
The residual chlorine measured is hypochlorite; what you have here are chloride ions – they are completely different things. As for how to measure chloride ions, I know that chloride ion selective electrodes can be used for this purpose, but their accuracy is rather average, just passable.
