I would like to ask everyone: How can calcium and magnesium ions be treated under strongly acidic conditions (pH 1–2)? Is there such a chelating resin available? Thank you in advance!
Removal of calcium and magnesium ions from acidic solutions: In acidic solutions containing large amounts of impurities, how can calcium and magnesium ions be removed simply? In other words, how can the effects of CaSO4 and MgSO4 be eliminated?
Chelation is complexation, not precipitation
Under strongly acidic conditions, since calcium and magnesium ions are in a completely ionized state, and given that the conditions necessary for them to form complexes or chelates are not met, it is practically impossible to remove calcium and magnesium ions from such acidic systems. The acid can be separated from calcium magnesium sulfate by evaporation through heating. Other methods are difficult.
This post was last edited by plp on 2017-7-5 at 20:39. The heating conditions aren’t suitable; my product cannot withstand high temperatures. Temperatures of 30–50 degrees are acceptable, but anything higher is not. Can strong acid-type cation exchange resins be used to treat it? Looking forward to answers from experts
How much are you or your business willing to spend to resolve this problem? This kind of process problem cannot be solved by posting messages. Why don’t you yourself conduct some experiments using the method you came up with?
