The latter allows one to check whether a standard has been revoked; some of the standards listed on the former site can be downloaded for free for reference

One’s own **standards should be made publicly available for everyone to download! Treating it like some kind of secret technology – how contemptible! What’s even more disgusting is that some standard-setting organizations use standards as a tool to pursue their own self-interest, which is truly repulsive.

For most **standards, they are formulated or revised directly by the organizations responsible for drafting them. This standard-setting approach does not involve intellectual property rights held by foreign entities or any authoritative institutions; it is completely free. Users only need to bear the cost of printing, or even obtain them for free (via download of electronic documents). However, since the modernization of standards in China started late, the formulation and revision of such standards require reference to foreign ** or authoritative bodies’ guidelines; in some cases, it is even necessary to adopt exactly the same or equivalent standard methods used by those foreign authoritative bodies. As a result, these ** and related professional standards developed in China must pay fees to the foreign authoritative bodies that originally established the standards. These fees may be charged on a per-article basis, which makes it normal and necessary for such standards to have associated costs in China as well. This has nothing to do with confidentiality; only by respecting the intellectual property rights of other countries can China’s own intellectual property rights earn respect from them as well.
