First, you need to determine the composition of those non-condensable gases; only based on that composition can you choose the appropriate methods for subsequent recovery or treatment. The non-condensable gases from MTBE plants are mainly C4 hydrocarbons, with saturated hydrocarbons being the predominant type; apart from being compressed and liquefied into liquefied gas, they have little economic value for other uses.
The emission volume is not high, and the pressure is low; it is not cost-effective to use a compressor, so venting to a flare is likely the most ideal option.
It is sent to the heating furnace using a blower as fuel.
For small quantities, using a flare is indeed a reasonable approach; however, attention must be paid to the concentration to ensure it remains outside the explosive range, and it is necessary to decide whether explosion-proof equipment should be used.
0.001 MPa – it’s a waste to discharge it into the flare; it would be better to release it directly into the boiler in the case of a circulating fluidized bed boiler.
