Phenomenon description: For analytical purposes, we prepared solutions of potassium hydrogen phthalate, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, and ammonium chloride. The concentration of potassium hydrogen phthalate was 100 mg/L, that of potassium dihydrogen phosphate was 0.2 g/L, and that of ammonium chloride was 0.1 g/L. After the solution was prepared, it was found that the concentration of potassium hydrogen phthalate kept decreasing, while there were no significant changes in ammonium chloride and potassium dihydrogen phosphate ; When the three materials are used to prepare solutions separately, the concentration of the solutions remains stable ; No decrease in concentration was observed either after ammonium chloride and potassium hydrogen phthalate were prepared into a solution. I would like to ask the experts for analysis: could it be that potassium hydrogen phthalate is acidic while potassium hydrogen phosphate is alkaline, and it is this reaction that causes the issue? Potassium hydrogen phthalate is an organic salt; if such a solution is to be stored for an extended period of time, it must be prepared using sterile water, or a small amount of bactericide that does not affect the analytical tests must be added to the solution. Additionally, phosphates in water are also nutrients, and ammonia is likewise a nutrient. When these three solutions are mixed together, they form an excellent medium for aquatic microorganisms; it contains all the elements necessary for their survival and reproduction, such as organic matter, phosphorus, nitrogen, and potassium, allowing the microorganisms to begin consuming organic matter.

The problem we are facing is that solutions prepared with a single component show no issues, but when the 3 components are mixed together, there is a decrease in the concentration of potassium hydrogen phthalate. After reconfiguring it, the same phenomenon occurred; I’ll check again to see if it’s due to biological factors
