What method is used to determine the concentration of sodium bicarbonate solution? It is not used to measure the content of solid sodium bicarbonate. I searched online for the indicator method and potentiometric titration method, but the values obtained did not correspond to the concentration of the solution I prepared. Furthermore, after our solution has been circulating in the system for some time, it becomes impossible to take measurements, as the values obtained are completely inaccurate. I wonder whether those refractometry-based sodium bicarbonate concentration meters can provide accurate measurements these days Or are there any better ways to detect it? Before circulation, it is a pure sodium bicarbonate solution; after circulation, it becomes a mixed solution of sodium bicarbonate, sodium chloride, and hypochlorous acid.
The concentration of a simple sodium bicarbonate solution can be accurately determined using acid-base titration; this is a classic method that is accurate and reliable. Refractometry can also be used for the online method. If it is a mixed solution, it is necessary to inform everyone of its approximate composition, because when measuring a certain component in a mixed sample, it is essential to consider whether other components may cause interference and what methods can be used to eliminate such interference.
