Brothers in the refining industry, is the Karl Fischer method useful for determining the moisture content in crude oil? We use Wantong’s; which other brands work well?
Metrel, Japanese KEM, DKK, and there are countless others in China. I can save up a simple set for you. Karl Fischer titrators are not hard to find, but to accurately measure the trace amount of water in crude oil, good solvents and high-quality Karl Fischer reagents are required.

The current standard for crude oil is GB 36170-2018, and the method for determining water content in it is the distillation method specified in GB/T8929
