I would like to ask the experienced colleagues for their advice on what would be a good choice for automatic salinity detection equipment in the online analysis booth of wastewater treatment plants.
I’m not sure if there are any such online total salt analysis devices; it may be necessary to make adjustments based on the specific salt content. If the salt content varies a lot, it’s likely that such an ‘online’ system won’t be possible.

How is the salt content defined?
The salt content of water is used to indicate the amount of salts present in that water. Since various salts in water exist in the form of ions, the salt content can be expressed as the total amount of various cations along with the total number of anions in the water. The term \"salt content\" in water has a different meaning from that of \"dissolved solids\": dissolved solids include not only the salts present in the water but also organic substances. Similarly, the terms \"salt content\" and \"total solids\" also have distinct meanings – total solids encompass not only dissolved solids but also suspended solids that do not dissolve in water; as a result, the values for dissolved solids and total solids are generally higher than those for salt content. However, in less strict situations, when the water is quite clear and contains little organic material, the amount of dissolved solids can sometimes be used as an approximate indicator of the salt content.
