Analysis parameters for air separation circulating water

Although the circulating water used in air separation is not special, some of the equipment in the air separation process that comes into contact with this water is made of materials that are quite special, such as aluminum and copper – materials with excellent thermal conductivity. This specificity may require certain particular requirements regarding the quality parameters of the circulating water. The conventional monitoring parameters for circulating water generally include pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, disinfectants (residual chlorine, chlorine dioxide, ozone, or non-oxidizing disinfectants), turbidity, hardness, alkalinity, phosphate/total phosphorus, iron, etc. For air separation units equipped with aluminum and copper components, aluminum, copper, and ammonia nitrogen may also be monitored as indicators of potential factors contributing to equipment corrosion. In addition, there may be some special analysis and monitoring items depending on the characteristics of the chemicals used in the circulating water.
