Where can the carbon dioxide and oxygen content in low- and medium-pressure steam be reduced? How to take samples?

What use is there for this steam? Generally, to determine the impurity content in water vapor, it is necessary to first condense the water vapor and then conduct the analysis, converting the results into an expression of the impurity content in the vapor. Carbon dioxide can be detected by measuring inorganic carbon, or by detecting the change in carbonate levels after treating with an alkali. The oxygen content is determined by measuring the dissolved oxygen in the condensate.

It is estimated to be low-pressure steam at around 0.1 MPa; the flow rate is measured using a flow meter, and the steam is cooled. Very little residual gas remains, so it is necessary to condense a large amount of steam in order to collect enough gas for analysis. Chromatographic analysis requires special equipment and takes a long time – it’s indeed complicated. It’s not clear whether using online instruments with thermal insulation would make things slightly easier.
