What methods are used to determine solid particulate matter in heavy oil? Are there any relevant testing methods?

It can be determined using the method of mechanical impurities in lubricating oil. If there are any technical issues, you can consult the First Research Laboratory of the Beijing Research Institute of Petrochemical Technology. Solid impurities in heavy oil are those that cannot be readily dissolved by many solvents, such as benzene-insoluble substances and quinoline-insoluble substances. The measurement of such solid particulate matter involves a lot of manual work and the use of special reagents; ASTM and national standards provide specific testing methods for this purpose.
