The catalytic and coking liquefied gas used in the gas separation unit is desulfurized before leaving the unit; the total sulfur content in this desulfurized liquefied gas is around 2500. After entering the gas separation unit as feed gas, it undergoes another desulfurization process (amine scrubbing). The total sulfur content in the MTBE produced when carbon 4 is fed into the MTBE unit remains below 10PPM. However, the Drabek test for MTBE often fails, and I believe this is likely due to the sensitivity of the Drabek reagent to large molecular sulfur compounds.
