However, the economic viability of the ethane dehydrogenation project and the direct cracking of ethane in ethylene plants still requires technical and economic evaluation
According to the reporter’s research, as many as 5 companies in Shandong have submitted applications for olefin-related projects this year alone. In addition, a fiber optic enterprise in Zhejiang and a project in Taizhou, Jiangsu will also enter the stage of civil construction. The current plans for these projects are mostly on the order of millions of tons; for example, a private chemical company in Heze, Shandong, intends to build an ethane cracking plant with an annual capacity of 2 million tons to produce ethylene, along with downstream facilities for high-density polyethylene, ethylene oxide, and other related products, as well as the necessary supporting infrastructure. A private chemical enterprise in Dongying plans to install an ethane cracking unit with an annual capacity of 1.2 million tons. The polyfiber enterprise Rongsheng in Zhejiang, as well as the olefin projects of private petrochemical enterprises in Dalian, all have capacities of over one million tons. The technologies they plan to introduce are also advanced ones from both domestic and international sources; some make use of American KBR technology, some employ S&W technology, and others utilize SEI ethylene process technology. Feasibility report: Huiseng, SEI, and HQCEC should all be able to handle it, right?
Are you planning to work on this project? This is easy to carry out; the main issue is whether the raw materials can be obtained. Given the current amount of raw materials and the methods used for their transportation, the prospects are good. However, the transportation capacity is insufficient at the moment, and it’s not yet possible to reduce the cost of raw materials! If it really needs to be done, ethane-propane copyrolysis, or the copyrolysis of propane along with light liquid feedstocks, would be more practical!
