Description of the equipment: The mesh demister is used to separate the liquid droplets carried in the gas within the tower, thereby ensuring efficient mass transfer, reducing losses of valuable materials, and improving the operation of the compressor downstream of the tower. Mesh demisters are generally installed at the top of the tower and can effectively remove fog droplets with a size of 3–5 um. IV. Some problems encountered and insights gained during the actual use of the equipment: 1. The screen came loose and blocked the pipelines, resulting in unstable rich gas flow and causing surging in the compressor ; 2. The screen detached and was carried to the press inlet, resulting in an emergency shutdown.

Description of the equipment: It is used to remove gelatinous substances, mechanical impurities, and other large particles from crude oil; its precision is generally 25 microns. IV. Some problems encountered and insights gained during the actual use of the equipment: Common factors that affect backwashing include the proportion of gasoline, the properties of the feed oil, the content of mechanical impurities, the number of backwash filters, and the amount of reactant fed in. a. Sticking fault of the programmable valve; the program gets stuck and remains in the flushing mode, resulting in a disruption in gasoline supply. b. The sludge pump in the tank that has been rinsed cannot be started, which may lead to overflow of the tank during rinsing. c. Excessive differential pressure can cause the filter screens to become blocked by mechanical impurities and gums; steam or nitrogen is required for backwashing~~~ If steam is used, liquid must be removed from it in advance.

Description of the equipment: This is a common type of torch used in the petrochemical industry. Function: To provide emergency pressure relief in case of abnormal operation or accidents, thereby ensuring the safety of the device. IV. Some problems encountered and insights gained during the actual use of the equipment: During normal production, the gas emissions from the units are collected in gas tanks; after being pressurized by gas compressors, they are sent back to the heating furnaces in various units as fuel gas, with the flares remaining shut off.

Description of the equipment: The turbine fan is installed at the outlet of the circulating water pump; it redirects a portion of the circulating water back to the turbine, which then drives the fan to cool the circulating water. This turbine fan can replace electric fans, thereby helping to save electrical energy. IV. Some problems encountered and insights gained during the actual use of the equipment: Over the more than two years of actual use, this equipment has not experienced any failures. In cold winter temperatures, the rotation speed of the turbine can be adjusted by controlling the volume of water returning flow; the operation is very simple, and the equipment is easy to maintain. The likelihood of it failing is much lower compared to electric fans.

III. Device description: The SWM-2000 single-well metering device is installed on self-priming wells. It is used in oil wells with a gas-to-liquid ratio of 500:1 or in heavy oil wells to measure the amount of gas, liquid produced, as well as the water content. The daily oil production volume can be determined based on the water content. The error in gas measurement is within 6%, while the error in liquid measurement is within 3%.

Description of the equipment: A gas holder is an important facility used for storing and recovering low-pressure gases in refineries, as well as for regulating the pressure in the gas distribution networks. It also serves as a crucial environmental protection device in refineries, playing an important role in maintaining the balance of low-pressure gases there. IV. Some problems encountered and insights gained during the actual use of the equipment: The low-pressure gas emitted by various units and ball tank areas enters the high- and low-pressure gas pipelines. Under the pressure of the two flare water seals (both at 800 mmH2O), these gases converge into one pipeline; after filtration and dew removal, they are sent to a 20,000 m3 rubber-sealed dry gas holder (with a control pressure of 400 mmH2O) for storage. From there, the gas proceeds to the compressor inlet, where a screw compressor raises its pressure to 0.4–0.55 MPa before it is sent to the fuel gas pipeline network. When the gas holder reaches the set height, the air inlet butterfly valve is automatically shut off, and the gas breaks through the water seal to be discharged to a flare for combustion. It can help refineries save energy and reduce waste.
