The raw material is the C4 fraction obtained after ether extraction in the MTBE plant; gas chromatography analysis shows a sulfur content of 1.68%. The concentration in the alkaline washing tank is kept between 5% and 7%, and the sulfur content in the product remains within the range of 10 ppm. Do any of you have any better suggestions?
This problem is indeed very common. Preliminary suggestions: 1. After etherification, the C4 fraction should first be washed with water before being fed into the alkylation reactor system; 2. Increase the temperature of the alkali wash water; 3. Increase the circulation rate of the alkali wash water; 4. Regularly drain the alkali solution from the alkali wash tank and replenish it with fresh alkali solution.
