Why is the top interface of the proportional sight glass in the alkylation reactor inclined toward the reactor? The bottom interface is connected to the acid circulation line, while the top interface is located in the mixing area. How were the positions of these two connection points determined?
The top and bottom positions ensure that, when a fixed ratio is not used, the acid hydrocarbons can circulate, with the acid hydrocarbon composition remaining the same as that in the reactor. The reactor is tilted in order to prevent acid from flowing into the reactor after the circulation valve is closed, so that it does not flow into the proportioner
