Shanghai Research Institute of Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. filed a patent application titled “A Method for the Vapor-Condensation Polymerization of Polyethylene”, with publication number CN120484166A, and the application date was June 2025. The patent abstract indicates that the present invention relates to a method for the vapor-phase condensation polymerization of polyethylene. A catalyst is prepared by modifying an aluminum-containing carrier with alkyl aluminum and/or alkoxy aluminum, loading it with chromium and titanium elements, and then subjecting it to high-temperature calcination. This catalyst is placed in a reactor, and ethylene monomer is introduced into the same; polymerization occurs under conditions of a temperature of 60°C to 115°C, an ethylene monomer pressure of 0.6 to 1.2 MPa, and vapor-phase condensation, resulting in the formation of polyethylene. Compared with existing technologies, the catalyst of the present invention features rapid activation, achieving 90% activation within 30 minutes, and can be applied to gas-phase condensation operations.
