The inlet filter of one of the C5 transfer pumps in our factory gets clogged frequently. When the filter is opened, a thick layer of viscous dark yellow substance adheres to the surface of the filter mesh; this substance cannot be removed with oil, but it disappears when washed with water. I would like to ask the experts: what is this substance?
