Yunnan Petrochemical: Shutdown!

On November 10, PetroChina issued a statement saying that its petrochemical plant in Yunnan would undergo a major shutdown for maintenance from November 15, 2025, to January 15, 2026. PetroChina said that this maintenance involves approximately 23,000 tasks, covering a wide range and requiring great depth of work. During the maintenance period, corresponding adjustments will be made to operations and supply. According to a report released by the company in July, the refinery is located in southwestern China and has a crude oil processing capacity of 13 million tons per year. It primarily produces gasoline meeting National VI standards, diesel, and aviation kerosene, which are supplied to the southwestern region and Southeast Asian markets. The report shows that since its commissioning in 2017, the refinery has processed a total of 83 million tons of crude oil ； In 2024 alone, a total of 11.56 million tons of crude oil were processed, resulting in the production of 11.15 million tons of products such as gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and liquefied petroleum gas. The company also stated that the two-month maintenance period was determined based on the operational conditions of the units, in order to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation after the repairs.
