Does ConocoPhillips still hold the licensing rights for the alkyl fluoride process technology? ConocoPhillips was established on August 30, 2002, through the merger of the American companies Conoco and Phillips; at that time, Phillips’ HF acid alkylation technology must have become part of ConocoPhillips. However, in 2007 UOP acquired Philips’ stake in HF acid alkylation technology – did this make it the only company with licenses for this technology?
