Ethylene liquid-phase dryer

Modern ethylene plants generally have both gas-phase dryers and liquid-phase dryers. There is a coalescer in front of the liquid-phase dryer, and there are numerous instruments, valves, interlocks, etc. installed in the dryer itself. Could we consider taking it to the tower upstream to separate the C2 fraction, without using a liquid-phase dryer?
A liquid-phase dryer can remove water to below 1 ppm; can a stripping tower do the same? Moreover, the instruments and valves are all under sequential control, so it’s not very complicated
