Establishment of the Hydrogen Energy Committee under the Petrochemical Federation Author/Source: Sinochem News Network Date: May 6, 2021 Clicks: 32 On April 29, the Hydrogen Energy Industry Committee of the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation was established in Qinzhou, Guangxi. Sun Weishan, vice president of the Petrochemical Federation, said that after its establishment, the Hydrogen Energy Industry Committee will focus on carrying out its work in six areas. First, efforts should be made in terms of industry development plans and policies; it is necessary to gain a thorough understanding of the current situation of these two industries as well as the problems that need to be addressed urgently. By utilizing the platform of the federation, timely voices can be raised to promote the healthy development of the industry. Second, efforts should be made to promote coordinated development within the industry, thereby fostering the synergistic growth of the entire hydrogen energy supply chain, as well as its upstream and downstream components. Third, efforts should be made in the joint development of common technologies to promote the research, demonstration, and dissemination of key common technologies for hydrogen energy. Fourth, efforts should be made in formulating hydrogen energy standards; by leveraging the experience gained in formulating standards for the petrochemical and chemical industries, progress can be made in improving and applying industry standards for hydrogen energy. Fifth, focus efforts on major industry events and the expression of significant interest demands. Sixth, efforts should be made in international cooperation, technology incubation, and industry-financing services. The Party Committee of the Petrochemical Federation ** and Vice President Wu Fu presided over the meeting. Li Yongliang, deputy director of the Industry Department of the Petrochemical Federation, introduced the preparation progress of the Hydrogen Energy Special Committee as well as the organizational structure of the committee. Zhu Liangwei, Deputy Secretary-General of the International Exchange and Foreign Enterprises Committee of the Petrochemical Federation, read out the explanatory notes on the formulation of the working procedures. Tian Xinqi, Director of the Human Resources and Members Department of the Petrochemical Federation, read out the federation’s approval regarding the composition of the first steering committee of the specialized committee.
