At 8:58 on July 14, 2021, the EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer) unit of the Phase II project at Sinochem Quanzhou Petrochemical in China was successfully put into operation, with the produced products meeting quality standards. This marks that all 17 units of the 1-million-ton/year ethylene and oil refining expansion project at Quanzhou Petrochemical have now been commissioned. The entire chemical production line is now fully operational, representing another significant step forward for Sinochem Energy in its integrated refining and petrochemical production. During driving, the internal and external operation teams worked with full commitment and in perfect coordination. With the start of the primary compressor and the secondary compressor, the system pressure was increased to the required level, the reaction was successfully established, the extrusion and granulation systems became stable, and the material was fed smoothly into the transition bin… The operation team achieved perfect coordination between the field and the control room. After 4 hours and 54 minutes, the EVA unit successfully produced high-quality UL00218 products – the unit has been operated successfully! On the afternoon of July 20, the first batch of EVA resin products (UL00218) was officially loaded onto trucks and shipped from the automated warehouse at Quanzhou Petrochemical. Quanzhou Petrochemical and Huaxiao Company held a ceremony to mark the release of the first batch of products from the EVA production facility. Both companies stated that they would work closely together to advance the research, development, and production of new products, particularly high-end polyolefin products, in an effort to turn Sinochem into a first-class comprehensive chemical enterprise.
