New breakthrough achieved in the 600,000 tons/year propane dehydrogenation to propylene process package! The domestic PDH process package has passed the review! Recently, the 600,000 tons per year moving-bed propane dehydrogenation to propylene process package, jointly developed by Sinopec Luoyang (Guangzhou) Engineering Company and the Petroleum Research Institute, passed the review organized by the group company. The review opinion states that the PST-100 catalyst used in this process boasts internationally leading comprehensive performance, the process package possesses independent intellectual property rights, and the process is advanced and well-designed; it is recommended to accelerate its industrial application. In 2018, the PST-100 mobile-bed propane dehydrogenation catalyst developed by the China Institute of Petroleum Sciences was commercially deployed in its complete form for the first time in China, boasting excellent comprehensive performance. Subsequently, the Institute of Rock Mechanics began work with Luoyang Engineering Company on the development and design of the propane dehydrogenation process package. By the end of 2020, through joint efforts by Luoyang Engineering Company and the Institute of Rock Mechanics, the first version of the process package was prepared and passed the preliminary review by Sinopec Group. In the first half of 2021, Luoyang Engineering Company and the Institute of Rock Mechanics further optimized the process package, reducing material and energy consumption ainda more; its overall technical level is now comparable to that of mature foreign processes.
