On August 2, a “one-stop” review meeting for the feasibility study report of Luoyang Petrochemical’s million-ton ethylene project was held in Beijing recently. The meeting was chaired by the Development Planning Department of Sinopec’s headquarters, with Sinopec Luoyang Engineering Co., Ltd. attending as the design agency responsible for the refinery engineering associated with the ethylene production. Sinopec Luoyang Engineering Co., Ltd. will evaluate the feasibility study reports for the 2.2 million tons per year hydrocracking unit and the 400,000 tons per year ethane recovery unit that it is responsible for, formulate evaluation opinions, and revise the feasibility study reports based on those opinions before submitting them to the headquarters. It is reported that the holding of this seminar will effectively advance the progress of the Luoyang Petrochemical ethylene project, contribute to the development of the central region, and facilitate the implementation of the strategy for ecological protection and high-quality development in the Yellow River basin. It is reported that in the \"Key Points for the Integrated Development of the Luoyang Metropolitan Area in 2021,\" under the theme of \"building a closely integrated industrial cluster,\" \"developing a high-end petrochemical industry belt in Luoyang, Jiyang, and Jiaozuo\" ranks first among the priorities. In addition to accelerating the implementation of Luoyang Petrochemical’s project to produce 120,000 tons of styrene per year, this initiative also includes speeding up the formulation of a comprehensive development plan for Luoyang’s high-end petrochemical industry base, carrying out preliminary work for a project to produce 1 million tons of ethylene at Luoyang Petrochemical, and promoting projects such as the development of a comprehensive energy utilization industry base and the large-scale upgrading of equipment. The goal is to invest 2.5 billion yuan in these projects throughout the year.
It seems this is a foregone conclusion
