On November 20, the newly built 4 million tons per year hydrocracking unit at Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Company produced qualified diesel products, with the unit starting up successfully on its first attempt. This unit is the largest hydrocracking unit of its kind in China, utilizing hydrocracking process technologies owned by Sinopec. Diesel accounts for as much as 37.5% of the feedstock, and the main products include light naphtha, heavy naphtha, and aviation fuel. Once put into operation, the unit can supply high-quality naphtha as raw material for the ethylene plant, effectively reducing the fuel-to-gas ratio. The project drove its first pile on February 29 of last year, and CCCC completed it on September 30 of this year. During the installation phase, the project team, in collaboration with construction and supervision units, made full use of the advantages of working as a large team to effectively overcome challenges such as proximity to existing production facilities, a short construction period, and pandemic prevention measures, thereby accelerating the progress of the project. The production team participated in the equipment quality inspection in advance, successfully completing various tasks such as the \"three inspections and four determinations\" as well as the testing of static and dynamic equipment. During the commissioning process, the local operation department always gives top priority to safety, strictly follows the commissioning schedule and plan, reasonably plans the progress of the work, organizes tasks horizontally and implements them vertically, advances multiple tasks simultaneously, and controls the rate at which temperature and pressure are increased. The project team strictly adheres to the requirements of grid-based management; for the issues identified on site, it assigns on-site maintenance personnel to carry out corrective actions 24/7. Before introducing materials into the unit, it is necessary to establish proper communication with the dispatch department as well as the upstream and downstream units. The requirements related to verbal confirmation before carrying out any operations must be strictly followed, and proper management of the blind plates is essential to prevent random placement of items, thereby ensuring that all steps in the unit’s operation remain under control. At present, the facility has officially entered regular production, with all product specifications meeting the required standards and the equipment operating in good condition.
