On May 11, the EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer) plant at Gulei Petrochemical produced granular products, which passed quality inspections; this marked a successful first operation of the plant, and with it, all of Gulei Petrochemical’s chemical plants are now in operation. This facility is the last chemical plant built by Gulei Petrochemical, with a designed production capacity of 300,000 tons per year; it is one of the production lines in China with the highest capacity using the tubular process. The device uses ethylene as its main raw material, and its products can be used in functional coatings, food packaging, photovoltaic power generation, as well as in high-end instrument panels for aircraft and automobiles, offering good market prospects. The Gulei Petrochemical Project Management Department, the general contractor, and the construction units have reversed the schedule, optimized the overall plan, and are making every effort to accelerate the project progress. Various business departments were deeply involved in early-stage design, equipment procurement, on-site construction, and other tasks, strengthening on-site safety controls to ensure the safe and smooth commissioning of the facility. Gulei Petrochemical has a million-ton-scale ethylene plant, as well as 9 other chemical processing units including a styrene plant with an annual capacity of 600,000 tons and a polypropylene plant with an annual capacity of 350,000 tons. The annual output value is expected to reach 26 billion yuan, and this can drive downstream industries in the region worth over 100 billion yuan, thus serving as a \"new engine\" for Fujian’s pursuit of high-quality development.
