Nanhua’s precious metal catalysts aid in the production of rubber antioxidants. On December 10, the 6PPD B production line in Nanhua Company’s rubber chemicals department produced qualified products after the replacement of the precious metal catalysts. The precious metal catalyst independently developed by the company has achieved a full replacement in the production process. Previously, Nanhua Company used traditional copper-based catalysts in the production of rubber antioxidants, which led to issues such as complex manufacturing processes and numerous side reactions involving the conversion of ketones to alcohols. To this end, the Nanhua Research Institute developed precious metal catalysts suitable for the production of rubber antioxidants, and simultaneously developed fixed-bed continuous hydrogenation technology, thereby bringing about innovation in the production process. Compared to traditional copper-based catalysts, precious metal catalysts reduce the temperature of the reaction system by 40% and the pressure by 60%. The process flow is shortened by one-third, while the continuity and stability of production are significantly improved.
