Recently, Hohhot Petrochemical Company issued clear requirements for accelerating the progress of the 1.2 million tons per year ethane-to-ethylene production project. It emphasized that this project should be used as an opportunity to plan ahead, coordinate efforts effectively, and operate efficiently, so as to ensure the orderly advancement of the company’s transformation and upgrading initiatives. Since the beginning of this year, Hohhot Petrochemical has been focusing on the goal of establishing an \"integrated development base for oil refining and chemical manufacturing.\" It has actively pursued the preliminary feasibility study for a project to produce ethylene from ethane at a capacity of 1.2 million tons per year, and has worked to meet the requirements related to new energy use, pollutant emissions, as well as the supporting infrastructure needed within the industrial park and in the surrounding areas. The company is making every effort to turn the vision for high-quality integrated development in the petrochemical sector into actual plans and implementations. To steadily advance the preliminary work for the project, the company established a task force for the preparatory phase of the 1.2 million tons per year ethane-to-ethylene production facility, and made several visits to the relevant departments in Ordos City and Wushen Banner to learn about the relevant policies. To date, more than 80 various documents have been obtained from local authorities, including development plans, environmental impact assessment plans, land delivery (relocation) arrangements, and new energy quotas; the commitments regarding new energy quotas as well as the conditions for the Tuk Park have been fulfilled.
