On March 26, the sixth-phase project of Daxie Petrochemical was launched, with Daxie Petrochemical and the Beilun District Government officially signing the investment agreement for this phase. The six projects under this agreement focus on a range of production facilities for new chemical materials, clean energy, and high-end carbon materials, covering a diverse portfolio of products such as polyethylene, elastomers, and needle coke, while also improving the relevant supporting infrastructure. Progress on Jilin Petrochemical’s Transformation and Upgrading Project: On March 18, the ethylene plant of Jilin Petrochemical was filled with tall towers. The transformation and upgrading project, which has been under construction for 27 months, involves a facility capable of producing 1.2 million tons of ethylene per year; it has now entered the stage of final construction. More than 1,500 workers are working at the site simultaneously. It is expected that the facility will be completed and ready for production by April 30, with operations set to begin within the course of this year. Progress on the Juhua Polyester New Materials Project: Recently, the 150,000-ton/year special polyester new materials project located in the southern plant of Ningbo Juhua Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. has seen the construction of its factory buildings, which cover an area of over 40 mu, completed; the equipment has also been installed. Zhou Qiang, chairman of Ningbo Juhua, said, “This new polyester material project is the largest of its kind in the world and is part of the province’s ‘Thousand Projects, Trillion Yuan’ initiative. With a total investment of 1.68 billion yuan, it is scheduled to go into operation in the first half of this year; once operational, it is expected to generate an additional annual sales revenue of 2.5 billion yuan.” This project will break the long-standing foreign technological monopoly and achieve domestic production across the entire industrial chain. ”Recent progress has been made on the industrial silicon project of Xinan Chemical Group. At the construction site of Xinan Chemical Group’s plant in Sanhe Village, Shizi Town, Yanjin County, which is capable of producing 150,000 tons of industrial silicon per year, construction vehicles are moving back and forth frequently, various construction machines are operating in an orderly manner, and workers are busy working at different stations – creating a lively atmosphere of construction activity. It is understood that the total investment in this project is 1.667 billion yuan, with operations set to begin officially in April 2025. Recent progress on the Guangxi Hua Yi integrated project: The 2×200,000 tons per year EVA plants as part of Hua Yi Group’s Guangxi Energy and Chemicals Co., Ltd.’s methanol-to-olefins and downstream processing integrated project, which are under the general contracting of Global Daqing Company, have now entered a critical phase in foundation construction. To mitigate the adverse impact of weather conditions on the project schedule, all members of the project team worked together diligently to strive toward achieving the goal of having the foundations of the two EVA units above ground level by March 30.
