According to Sinochem New Network, recently the Aromatics Department of Shanghai Petrochemical successfully replaced the rotor plate, a key component of the rotary valve, in Unit 4’s aromatics adsorption and separation system with a domestically developed version – the \"Chinese Heart\" – marking a shift from complete reliance on imported components to domestic production of this critical part. As a core component in the aromatic hydrocarbon production process, the rotor plate is a highly precise and critical switch. It is responsible for switching and distributing materials between different pipelines at fixed intervals with extremely high precision. This requires the device to be flawlessly constructed and durable. In the past, this technology relied heavily on imports from abroad. Based on this, Sinopec Shanghai Chemical joined forces with East China University of Science and Technology and the manufacturing company Yangzhong Sanli Machinery Co., Ltd. to form a dedicated task force. Through full-chain independent research and development, from theoretical design and material selection to precision manufacturing, as well as repeated testing and improvements, the team successfully developed high-performance domestic rotor plates, which were installed and put into use successfully during a recent equipment maintenance period. Actual operation has shown that the domestically produced rotor plate provides excellent sealing performance, and the equipment operates smoothly and reliably, fully meeting the expected goals.
