On March 30, the first main production unit of Guangxi Petrochemical’s integration and transformation project – a 2 million tons per year diesel adsorption and separation unit – was completed to high standards, marking significant progress in the project’s construction. The project was EPC-general contracted by Kunlun Engineering, constructed by Daqing Oilfield Construction Group, and supervised by Qingdao Huayou. Construction began in October 2023 and was completed after 525 days. This device is the world’s largest diesel adsorption separation unit to date; it utilizes a \"reduction of oil content and enhancement of purity\" technology developed based on the principles of \"molecular engineering\", enabling the high-purity separation of diesel fractions. This device features a high degree of integration and complex manufacturing processes. Using hydrogenated refined diesel as raw material, it produces adsorbed non-aromatics that serve as feedstock for ethylene cracking units, while the adsorbed heavy aromatics are used to increase the production of high-value products such as naphtha and propylene. It consists of 4 units, including those for adsorption and extraction. During the construction period, faced with challenges such as a large number of equipment, complex processes, limited space, and difficulties in organizing construction, Guangxi Petrochemical firmly implemented the concepts of \"six controls\" and \"six modernizations\" in management. It succeeded in achieving goals such as completing the soil-free construction by March 30, 2024, and finishing all mechanical work by December 30, 2024, thus achieving 590,000 safe working hours without any accidents. Once put into operation, this facility will further optimize material balance, helping the enterprise transition from a \"fuel-based\" model to one focused on chemical products and organic materials. It will also contribute to the development of a petrochemical industry cluster worth trillions of yuan in Guangxi, thereby enhancing the region’s economic strength and industrial competitiveness.
