On April 19, the Shandong Provincial Government approved the expansion of five chemical parks: the Dongying Hekou Chemical Industry Park, the Wendeng Chemical Industry Park, the Yiyuan Chemical Industry Park, the Jiaxiang Chemical Industry Park, and the Shouguang Houzhen Chemical Industry Park. After the expansion, the Dongying Hekou Chemical Industry Park covers an area of 13.1023 square kilometers and consists of two zones. Among them, the main area of the Dongying Hekou Chemical Industry Park is 11.5352 square kilometers, while the Hualian Petrochemical area covers 1.5671 square kilometers. After the expansion, the Wendeng Chemical Industry Park covers an area of 7.04 square kilometers and consists of two zones. Among them, the main area of the Wendeng Chemical Industry Park is 6.42 square kilometers, while the Zhongyin Chemical area covers 0.62 square kilometers. After the expansion, the Yiyuan Chemical Industry Park covers an area of 6.2667 square kilometers. After the expansion, the Jiaxiang Chemical Industry Park covers an area of 6.3528 square kilometers. After the expansion, the Shouguang Houzhen Chemical Industry Park covers an area of 21.1749 square kilometers and is divided into two zones. Among them, the main area of the Shouguang Houzhen Chemical Industry Park covers 20.2247 square kilometers, while the Xinlong area covers 0.9502 square kilometers. Shandong Province requires that the relevant municipal governments adhere to high-standard planning and construction, striving to turn the aforementioned chemical industrial parks into demonstration and leading areas for the high-quality development of the industrial economy. It is necessary to strengthen park management, improve infrastructure facilities, carry out safety and environmental protection improvements, accelerate the expansion of the area, promote industrial collaboration, and actively foster a new landscape for the standardized development of chemical parks. Once the key monitoring points in the chemical industry are integrated into the unified management of the park, they are no longer treated as key monitoring points.
