According to a report from China Chemical on May 13, recently, the central control room of the Juzhengyuan (Jieyang) New Materials Acetic Acid Project – the world’s largest acetic acid production facility, which was constructed under the general contract of a consortium led by China Chemical’s Tiantchen Company and Company 16 – was completed. This makes it the first key component of the project to be finished, and the project has now entered the final stages of testing. Serving as the \"intelligent brain\" of the entire project, the central control room has a total construction area of around 2,000 square meters. It undertakes key functions such as process control, safety monitoring, and production scheduling for the whole plant. Pile foundation construction began in January 2024; the main structure was completed in June of the same year, and the project was successfully finished in April 2025. The Juzhengyuan (Jieyang) New Materials Acetic Acid Project is a key project under Guangdong Province’s “Hundred-Thousand-Thousand Project.” It involves the construction of an acetic acid production facility with an annual capacity of 1.5 million tons, as well as CO cryogenic separation and compression units, along with various supporting utilities and auxiliary facilities. Once operational, this project will fill the gap in acetic acid production capacity in Guangdong Province.
