Guangxi Petrochemical’s solution-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber exported for the first time

On February 24, Guangxi Petrochemical made a breakthrough in its export business of solution-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber; the first batch of 60 tons of exported products was successfully delivered to Sihanoukville Port in Cambodia, and is set to be sent to tire manufacturers in Southeast Asia. This represents another significant advancement in Sinopec’s sales operations in the field of high-end new materials, as well as in efforts to promote the export of its products, following the signing of the first domestic direct sales order for 332 tons of solution-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber by Guangxi Petrochemical at the beginning of this year. 　　The successful signing of these export orders not only verifies the effectiveness of the market-oriented business strategy adopted in chemical sales, but also demonstrates the excellent performance and stable supply capacity of SBR products produced by China National Petroleum Corporation. This marks the entry of these products into the core supply chains of major tire manufacturers, as well as the recognition of their quality by high-end customers in the downstream industry. 　　It is reported that Guangxi Petrochemical’s 120,000 tons per year SBS solution polymerization plant represents China National Petroleum Corporation’s first production line using a solution polymerization process with independent intellectual property rights; the products manufactured by this plant are key specialty materials used in the production of high-performance tires, environmentally friendly all-season tires, and other premium products. By effectively filling the gap in high-quality polybutadiene rubber in the South China and Southwest regions and increasing its market share in the domestic market, this product lays a solid foundation for China National Petroleum Corporation’s synthetic rubber products to enter the ASEAN market. 　　Since the beginning of this year, China’s petrochemical sales sector has been carrying out marketing initiatives to accelerate its expansion into international and high-end markets. Seizing the opportunity for leading tire manufacturers to set up factories in countries such as **, Vietnam, and Cambodia, it has promoted the export of styrene-butadiene rubber. In January, exports of chemical products increased by 53.9% on a year-on-year basis, enabling a positive cycle of capacity utilization, export growth, and improved profitability.
