INEOS has applied for a patent related to a method for cracking hydrocarbons. Specifically, it describes a method for cracking hydrocarbon feedstocks. According to information from the Intellectual Property Office dated July 29, 2025, INEOS Europe AG has filed a patent application titled “Method for Cracking Hydrocarbons.” The publication number of this application is CN120390912A, and it was filed in November 2023. The patent abstract indicates that the present invention relates to a method for cracking hydrocarbon feedstocks, and in particular provides a method for cracking hydrocarbon feedstocks. This method includes a) transferring the hydrocarbon feedstock to a reactor tube, which comprises a first zone and a second zone downstream of the first zone; each zone including one or more electric heating sections, b) heating the hydrocarbon feedstock in the one or more electric heating sections within the first zone to vaporize it, and c) heating the vaporized hydrocarbon feedstock in the one or more electric heating sections within the second zone to crack it. The method is characterized in that the hydrocarbon feedstock is analyzed, and the electrical power supplied to the one or more electric heating sections in the first zone and/or the electrical power supplied to the one or more electric heating sections in the second zone is controlled based on the results of such analysis.
