Properly addressing the issue of material odor pollution is of great practical significance. Deodorants are products used to eliminate or reduce various unpleasant odors generated during the processing or use of different materials; these odors include sulfur-containing compounds such as hydrogen sulfide and sulfur dioxide ; Nitrogen-containing compounds such as ammonia, amines, etc ; Halogens and derivatives such as halohydrocarbons ; Benzene or styrene aromatic hydrocarbons ; Oxygen-containing organic compounds such as alcohols, amines, aldehydes, phenols, acids, esters, alkoxy compounds, CO, and other odor-causing molecules can irritate the senses and cause secondary pollution to the environment. Due to the differences in the chemical composition of various materials and the molecules that produce odors, odor removers based on appropriate principles must be used. Currently, deodorants mainly include chemical, microbial, nano, plant-based, and composite types. The researchers at Ma’anshan Keli Chemical Technology Company primarily rely on chemical principles, utilizing reactions such as oxidation, reduction, decomposition, neutralization, addition, chelation, condensation, and ion exchange to convert the odorous substances generated into odorless ones. Deodorants are available in liquid, powder, or solid granule form. In the first issue of 2011 of the journal 【Applications of Engineering Plastics】, there was a paper titled 【Preparation and Application of Low-Odor Polypropylene Modifiers】, which used one of the polypropylene deodorants produced by Ma’anshan Kelihua Chemicals; the PP materials produced using this deodorant met the second-level odor standards.
