New breakthrough achieved in the production capacity of high-performance membrane materials in China and South Korea

Since the beginning of this year, China and South Korea’s petrochemical industries have achieved new breakthroughs in the production capacity of high-performance film materials such as high-speed matting films developed through independent research and development. From January to July, 135% of the annual target for replacing imported products was met; these materials have been successfully applied in fields such as packaging and electronic protection films, thus effectively meeting domestic market demands. For a long time, the market for high-performance film materials such as high-speed light-blocking films has been dominated by foreign companies. Sino-Korean petrochemical companies have carried out technical research to overcome challenges related to matting properties, tensile strength, and film stability. Data shows that the product performance has reached international advanced levels, along with significant cost advantages. Currently, this product has become a key product of Sino-Korea Petrochemical’s No. 2 HDPE (high-density polyethylene) plant; it not only improves the overall operational efficiency of the plant but also generates significant economic benefits. The company will draw on its experience in market applications in areas such as packaging and electronic protective films to develop a range of products, thereby continuing to expand into high-end markets such as healthcare and new energy.
