Production of high melt index and high impact resistance polypropylene by Sino-Korean petrochemical companies reaches new heights

Since the beginning of this year, Sino-Korean Petrochemical has been continuously increasing its production capacity of high melt index and high impact resistance polypropylene by optimizing production process parameters and intensifying research and development efforts. As of the end of July, production volume increased by 50.5% on a year-on-year basis, reaching a new high for the same period in history. The Central China region is an important automobile industry hub in the country, and it has been making significant efforts to promote the development of lightweight new energy vehicles in recent years. As an integrated refining and chemical manufacturing enterprise in Central China, its high-melt-index, high-impact resistance polypropylene products, with their excellent flow properties and high impact strength, meet the dual requirements of reducing weight and enhancing strength that arise from the trend toward lighter weight in new energy vehicles. When used in automotive parts, it enables weight reduction while maintaining excellent mechanical properties, and has become a highly sought-after product in the market for modified automotive materials; some of its grades have been approved by international automobile manufacturers. To meet the automotive manufacturers’ diverse requirements regarding material properties, the R&D teams at Zhonghan Petrochemical continue to optimize production processes. Through process innovations such as optimizing catalyst ratios and dynamically adjusting reaction temperatures, they strive to improve key performance indicators such as the product’s bending modulus and impact resistance. Currently, this material is supplied steadily to the high-end automotive industry chain, and is widely used in the manufacturing of key components such as bumpers and dashboards, providing localized material solutions for the new energy vehicle industry in Central China.
