Patent abstract: This utility model discloses a device for producing isoprene by the pyrolysis of methyl tert-butyl ether. The apparatus comprises a multiphase mixer, an oil-water separator, a water washing tower, an isomerization reactor, an isopentene purification tower, and a methanol recovery tower ; The multiphase mixer carries out multiphase mixing of the raw material and water, and the outlet of the multiphase mixer is connected to the inlet of the oil-water separator ; The aqueous phase is fed into the methanol recovery tower, while the oily phase containing crude isopentene is fed into the washing tower ; The wash tower extracts methanol from the crude isopentene in the oil phase into water; the material at the bottom of the tower is sent to the methanol recovery tower, while the washed crude isopentene enters the isomerization reactor ; The outlet of the isomerization reactor is connected to the inlet of the isopentene purification tower, which is used to purify the product ; The methanol recovery tower is used to separate methanol and water. This practical new design removes most of the methanol from the reaction products through oil-water separation, thereby reducing the amount of water needed for subsequent washing. This in turn reduces the workload on the methanol recovery tower, helping to lower the operating costs of the facility. Since the beginning of this year, Sinopec has obtained 3,389 new patent approvals, a decrease of 16.61% compared to the same period last year. Based on the company’s financial figures for the first half of 2025, the company invested 6.186 billion yuan in research and development during this period, representing a 3.05% increase compared to the previous year.
