In January 2026, Dongying City issued a notice announcing the list of key projects for that year. Project overview: The total land area of the project is 271.9 hectares, equivalent to 4,078.5 mu. It includes a new crude oil processing capacity of 15 million tons per year, as well as 15 million tons of vacuum distillation units (including light hydrocarbon recovery), 3 million tons of slurry bed residue hydrocracking, 2.2 million tons of wax oil hydrogenation treatment, 2 million tons of wax oil catalytic cracking, 1 million tons of catalytic gasoline hydrogenation, 600,000 tons of catalytic product refining, 500,000 tons of catalytic LPG separation, 2.2 million tons of continuous reforming, 2 million tons of extraction and aromatic separation, 2 million tons of diesel hydrogenation upgrading, 3 million tons of diesel hydrocracking, 2.6 million tons of wax oil hydrocracking units, 100,000 tons of MTBE, 200,000 tons of alkylation, 4×100,000 tons of sulfur recovery, 100,000 standard cubic meters per hour of 1#PSA and 2#PSA units, 2 million tons of POX production, 120,000 tons of PPC production, 1.2 million tons of aviation fuel hydrogenation, 800,000 tons of C3/C4 separation, 200,000 tons of butanol, along with 22 other process units and the associated utility systems and auxiliary facilities. Latest updates: An application has been submitted for inclusion in the **petrochemical industry development plan, and the preliminary procedures such as environmental impact assessments and energy assessments are currently being finalized. On January 7, 2026, Liang Runsheng, member of the Municipal Party Committee and vice mayor, led a delegation to our county for an inspection of the Xinhe Xing Petrochemical Guangrao Integration Project. Chen Yinpeng, Deputy Secretary of the County Party Committee and County Head, and Zhao Yong, Deputy County Head, attended the inspection.
