“During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, the system for coordinating exploration, production, supply, storage, and sales of strategic mineral resources will be further improved. According to CCTV News and the Ministry of Natural Resources, by 2026, China will carry out another round of strategic actions aimed at making breakthroughs in mineral exploration. At the same time, special campaigns will be launched to address cases of areas that have been designated as mineral reserves but not explored, with a view to cracking down on illegal exploitation of strategic mineral resources. The Ministry of Natural Resources stated that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, a new round of strategic initiatives aimed at advancing mineral exploration in China achieved new results, with all the exploration goals set out in the 14th Five-Year Plan being fully met. **Focusing on key mineral species, specific plans were developed for each to address these challenges; 10 large oil fields and 19 large gas fields were discovered. The reserves of uranium, copper, gold, lithium, and potash increased significantly, and major discoveries were made in mines such as the Dadonggou gold mine in Liaoning and the Jijiaoshan lithium mine in Hunan. “During the 15th Five-Year Plan period, China will further improve the integrated system for the exploration, production, supply, storage, and sales of strategic mineral resources, strengthen monitoring and early warning of security risks related to such resources, and develop plans to enhance capabilities in exploration, development, and storage.
